Simon Ripert was born in France in 1988. He trained at the National Ballet School of Marseille from 2001 to 2006. He then joined the Conservatoire National Supérieur of Lyon and the Lyon Jeune Ballet in 2008. From 2009 to 2012, he danced within the Ballet de Chemnitz under the direction of Lode Devos. In 2013, he created his own dance and art festival in the Lubéron region. He joined the Ballet Preljocaj in 2013.
