KATA creates a language of memory through martial movements. Using karate moves or katas, Anna Chirescu composes a piece where the body becomes a living archive. This produces a blend of family heritage, exile and Romanian history through dance, voice and fiction. The result is an intimate and political journey where each movement reactivates a past that was handed down and reinvented.
