ANGELIN PRELJOCAJ AND PAINTING
Angelin Preljocaj proposes creations where dance converses with painting, paintings come to life, bodies sketch lines and colours and lights start to move.
Video teaser
Still Life by Angelin Preljocaj takes inspiration from the 17th century Vanitas art genre. This aesthetic, painterly piece is filled with skulls, hourglasses, globes, crowns and swords. The young dancers perform slow-motion battle scenes, lovers’ duos and stirring choreographed ensembles in a circular dramaturgy to the sound of the violins of Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto.
And also: public rehearsals, talks, film screenings…
