Pavillon Noir, a center for creation and experimentation
The Pavillon Noir is a venue for creation where Ballet Preljocaj and guest companies in residence can work and finish their shows ahead of the first performance. By encouraging the emergence of up-and-coming talent, it has become a sought-after venue in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region and a stopping-off point on the international contemporary dance circuit. There are regular opportunities for members of the public to meet the artists and learn all about the creative processes involved.

After Hervé Chaussard, Émilie Lalande, and Arthur Perole, Oona Doherty has been an associate artist at the Pavillon Noir since 2024.
She benefits from access to the rehearsal studios, the theater stage, and the expertise of the Pavillon Noir teams to carry out her projects.

Each season, Ballet Preljocaj is hosting companies in residence as part of its “accueil-studio” program.
They benefit from financial support and the use of studios and/or the stage to rehearse their creations.

Cultural activity: an invitation to discover and encounter
Ballet Preljocaj organises a wide range of outreach activities based on exchange and proximity. These activities are an opportunity for as many people as possible to discover the world of dance and have their curiosity aroused, as well as instil a keenness in them to see more. Its work is centred on two key notions of helping audiences encounter the art form of choreography with guest artists and refining their choreographic culture and critical reception of different works.
